In Mokena, shops are busiest on Monday mornings and before holiday weekends, so a mid-week appointment gets a car seen faster. Labor rates across Illinois vary by neighborhood and by shop type, from small independents to dealership service bays, and mobile mechanics now cover many routine jobs in the driveway. Before authorizing a repair, ask for the estimate in writing, whether the shop warranties parts and labor (12 months / 12,000 miles is common, some offer more), and whether it can provide a loaner or a shuttle. Check the listing for hours, the makes the shop works on and its Google rating, then call ahead, since walk-in capacity is limited at smaller shops.
Hours have not been published for this listing yet. Most businesses of this type in Mokena keep standard business hours, but call ahead to be sure, especially on weekends and holidays. Bob is a wealth of knowledge. Been working with him for over 25 years. He's forgotton more that I'll ever know. If I can't figure something out, he's the one to call. Perfection doesn't come cheap, but worth every dime.

The worst machine shop I’ve ever seen in my life. Brought a cylinder head over to have it inspected on a vehicle with a blown head gasket. Long story short they machine a cylinder head that was cracked. FX engines also stated they did not check it for cracks. But is that not the standard for any machine shop machining engine parts? When they were asked why it was not checked for cracks we were told we did not pay for that service that was an additional charge. That was not even offered by them when head dropped off! Also was charged more then quoted because they had to install valve stem seals. I seriously question there abilities. Or they are only there to steal peoples hard earned money. This review was made after contacting them and was hung up on when trying to talk about the issues.
